Why are we throwing a gala?

The gala will be a fundraiser benefitting the gymnasium of Legacy Magnet Academy. While the district provides us with the building, we must fundraise for the equipment and tools to be used in the classrooms and kinesiology lab that all our student will use. 

Who benefits from the gym?

All our students benefit from the gym being built with state of the art equipment. Our physical education classes will be run out of the gym. We will have classrooms, kinesiology lab, a maker space, and we will have a place for all students to gather for assemblies, dances, and events. We will have an indoor space to hold events hosted by ASB, Clubs, and for the entire LMA community. Everyone benefits from the gym.

Is there a theme? 

It is an 80s night. We ask you to dress in your favorite 80s wear. 

Will it be outdoors?

The venue is an outdoor venue so we ask you to dress for the weather as it is in December.

What will happen at the gala? 

The gala will have dinner served, a cash bar, dessert station, a wine wall, silent auction, entertainment and DJ. 

Do you have to go to the gala to bid on auction items?

Yes you should be at the gala to bid on auction items and be prepared to pay your bid should you be the winner at the end of the silent auction event. 

Do we need sponsors? 

Yes, we need corporate sponsors. As a corporate sponsor you will be invited to the gala and will receive benefits according to our corporate sponsorship packet [download info].

Do we need donations for the Silent Auction? 

We have had sone generous families and local business who have made donations for the auction but we welcome more donations [download info].

What is the wine wall?

We are asking parents to donate wine valued at $25 or more. They will be placed at the wine wall in a blind bag and patrons will pay $25 to obtain a bottle of wine. It maybe valued at $25 or more. It’s a fun mystery item to add to the fundraiser. If interested in donating wine, please email Hope Lindsay.

What does my ticket get me?

Your ticket gets you access to the gala which includes dinner buffet with vegetarian and meat faire and 1 drink ticket. You will have access to the Silent Auction, the Live Auction, the Wine Wall and a good time with your fellow LMA parents, staff and community. 

Do we need help? 

Yes you can still help with: Decorations, Silent Auction, Obtain Corporate Sponsorship, Get Wine Wall Donations, Get Bar Donations.

Can students come to this event?

No LMA students are not allowed at this event as it is an adult event where adult beverages are served. This is an adult fundraiser for parents, teachers, staff and friends of LMA.
